ONE CLASSROOM, ONE PROJECT

Project-based Learning and the new education from 2020

This book presents, develops and summarizes, with a simple, deep and suggestive language, the work that has been done, “minute by minute”, with hundreds of teachers from several countries, and different educational levels, in the formation of Project-Based Learning. And it does so from a current perspective. The author believes that the reality that the planet has been experiencing since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic has been a turning point in teaching, and that’s his reflection on the pages of the book. He also shows it in the way of implementing the PBL, the formation of groups, the evaluation and the center of interest of teachers, students and community.

This book faces the challenge of trying to synthesize in a few pages the practical work carried for decades along which schools and teachers from different countries have engaged hundreds of hours of work. The author’s wants this book to be useful to its readers. A small challenge to start a project in the classroom: introducing the PBL.

JUAN JOSÉ VERGARA is a pedagogue, an expert in active methodologies, but first of all he is a teacher. He has worked as a teacher at practically all educational levels and contexts, and he out for his work on school change and educational innovation. He is currently especially interested in the ability of educational innovation to make change possible in schools and classrooms that seek equity and social justice. He believes that PBL is the way to achieve this goal and has written several books on this subject that have become the most widely read reference texts today. This has led him to direct workshops and deliver lectures in Spain, Mexico, Argentina, Peru, Chile and Puerto Rico. He is the author of the Prologue Miguel Á. Zabalza, professor at the University of Santiago de Compostela.
